Cosmetic surgery advice must be clearer, says study
Marbella.. A web sites new study suggests that Customers planning cosmetic surgery need more help and
advice when choosing how to go through with treatments.
Research by the Good Surgeon Guide indicated that one in five people who consider going through with surgery
will end up not doing it because there is too much information for them to take in.
Christina Clogg, co-founder of the good surgeon guide, stated that if customers could see honest feedback
from other patients then they could make informed decisions on their own cosmetic surgery procedures.
David Mills,Director of Mills&Mills Medical Group,Marbella welcomes the idea that there are more sites specifically
geared towards giving patients unbiased advice on which treatments to choose and how to go about it, he says
"choosing which hospital you use and what surgeon can be a very daunting experience and it can so easily deter people
from going ahead with surgery. Most Clinics offer their own advice but it is necessary that patients have the option
to use other sites as a guideline. The likes of Treatment abroad and private healthcare sites are great examples of this"
The study by the company also showed that ten times as many people had surgery last year as they did six years ago.
With the top procedure being breast augmentation followed by Liposuction and tummy tucks.
More startling is the fact that over 600,000 people had some form of cosmetic surgery in 2008.
