The Gastric Balloon is a ball that is
placed in your stomach to help you feel full more easily
and therefore reduce your food intake.
 This
solution means you avoid the complications of pharmaceutical
diet and weight-loss pills and drugs. The gastric balloon
has a number of benefits:

 The
500cc ball is inserted into your stomach through
your mouth, and then later filled with sterile saline
solution. This is usually performed under local anaesthetic
and sedation. This means that your recovery is normally
very swift.
Our obesity team will help put together a nutrition programme
for the initial post operative period, where you need to
avoid solid food for the first few days as your body goes
through the normal process of adjusting to the ball.
Once you have adjusted you can then start upon your new nutrition
regime and exercise programme and start seeing the results.
