hairdresser, Jonathan Yeadon of Colour and Cutting Crew
began the New Year with a gift to himself by having liposuction
at Mills & Mills Medical Group.
As a teenager, Jonathan always battled with his weight. He was described by the
school dietician as morbidly obese and at 15 years of age and five feet six inches,
he tipped the scales at 15 stone. He was very unhappy and was the constant victim
of bullying at his all-boys school in Bradford, England.
“It was horrendous,” Jonathan explained, “I just didn’t
seem to fit in. I was the fat boy with the glasses and an easy target for the
rugby playing boys at my school. Something had to be done. I dieted constantly
but it didn’t help - my weight didn’t seem to alter much. Then when
I was in my twenties, I discovered Weight Watchers. I changed my whole diet routine
and the weight was at last falling off! I was encouraged to join a gym, and I
have to say, I’m now slightly compulsive and hate to miss my thrice weekly
visits and the weight has never returned. At 36 years old and 6 foot tall, I
now weigh just over 12 stone.
Although I am a gym fanatic, I have never been able to get rid of my “spare
tyre” and no amount of exercise seems to help. I had the much publicised
Fat Jab, but I was needle phobic and having 40 needles injected into my middle
was not a nice experience and to make things worse, it didn’t even work.
In absolute desperation, I contacted Mills & Mills Medical Group and had
a consultation with Marco Vricello, one of the surgeons at the clinic. He told
me that he could use liposuction to get rid of the excess fat around my waist
but stressed that he didn’t think I would be pleased with the results as
there was a limit to what he could do. I was undeterred and booked myself in.
The clinic was amazing – it was like a 5-star hotel. I was incredibly nervous
but I was treated like a king and nothing was too much trouble and the care and
attention I received was beyond belief. I underwent the procedure and stayed
overnight. My mind was put totally at ease as the staff constantly checked on
me to see if I was doing okay during the night. Marco came to see me and said
that he had managed to remove more fat than he’d expected to and that I
would be thrilled with the results.
I am and I feel that I have managed to rid myself of something that has plagued
my whole life. I am terrified of hospitals but I cannot stress to you how wonderful
the experience was. Mills & Mills are incredible and I want the world to
know it!”
